Many people from different countries come here to spoiled their appetite...see the welcome board..can you find yours... :)

Food lovers told us that you will be deceived by the looked and taste of the food...
We are so excited to wait the food ready to serve..

Not too long, the food is ready...........

the unbearable menu

yummy...yummy...

can not wait for long...we finish them all....
Dimas feels so full...the foods go to his eyes....

What we learn from this resto is DO NOT JUDGE THE BOOK FROM COVER...

It is only mushroom but the chef can make it so delicious until you won't know it is mushroom...and the price is even more suprising for the first class taste like it...only around 5k-15k rupiah (~60cents - 1.5 USD perportion)...

Our unstable minds

Our minds are like a candle flame: unstable, flickering, constantly changing, fanned by the violent winds of our thoughts and emotions. The flame will burn steadily only when we can calm the air around it so we can only begin to glimpse and rest in the nature of mind when we have stilled the turbulence of our thoughts and emotions

Semar

Javanese people has many different culture that make this tribe is so colorful. One of them is puppet show. Usually they held it during the big event in their live such as circumcision of their sons or sometimes in the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

The story usually begins with the funny dialogs between 'Punakawan'. They are not the main character but they are part of the story that makes the show attractive.
'Punakawan' consists of two words; ‘puna’ means wise and ‘kawan’ means friends so that the meaning is a wise friend.

Semar is the main character in Punakawan. His name is also Hyang Ismaya. He is the care-giver of Pandawa. Even though his appearance is so ugly, he has a supernatural ability that is greater than the Gods. He is incarnation of half human and half Gods.

Semar (courtesy of Google)

His heart is as wide and deep as ocean, his words have the power of 'sabda pendita ratu', which means his words are very powerful because his words is Gods will. Lucky for the knights whom under his hands because their kingdom will be very prosperous, peaceful and always secure from disasters.

Semar symbolized the character of frugal, humble, calm, honest, not a hypocrite, never feel too sad or too happy. He is mentally mature, not easy to get traumatized and never complain with his life.
Semar also represents patient, caring, guardian of good deeds and stay away from doing the bad deeds.

His white pale face symbolized his behavior that is always fateful by not following his bad desire. It emphasizes the sanctity of the contents of the skin. He always sided with the truth and justice and rectifying any misappropriation. Pale white is also represented cool not aggressive, wise, not easy to get flattered, not angry for being humiliated, known as 'Badranaya' literally means moon face.

One thing that makes me even falling with Semar. His powerful weapon is farts. Why he has guns "fart" and not weapons that are physically like an arrow, sword, lance or even machine guns

There are some reasons:
1. Farts come from within Semar himself, so this weapon nature is a strength that comes from personal Semar is not a tool created or made.

2. Semar uses a gun not to kill but rather to disenchant.

3. Semar would use weapons "farts" when the way the conventional use ordinary weapons can not be overcome problems.

As a symbolic meaning "fart" itself has the properties:
1. Always have the feel of sound and smell.
2. Usually it smells rotten or bad.
3. So the "fart" it could also means that smells or sounds nuanced and felt less pleasant.

So Semar symbolized people who brings simplicity to the the nature of wisdom and holiness of the view that could provide insight more pure without bias to a problem that can grasp the truth as it is.

I wish we had the leader like him….

Make a simple tent

My oldest son Aditya told me that he has to make a tent for fire camp before the summer break...
I asked him again with emphasizing the word "make" or "bring"...
but he convinced me that he has to MAKE his own tent...

then he attempted to find out how to make an easy simple tent because he has to setup the tent by himself on the camp...
He started with his grandma handkerchief and figure it out how to make a tent...
finally he found what he wants...

He uses 360cm x 180cm canvas and makes pin hole with 90cm spacing in each side of the tent...
First you pin the center of the backstage (hole no.9)

the sketch (hole with 90cm spacing and number)
you can also add a window at the back just for circulation
don't forget to put cover in-case of rain and net so bugs won't come

then the hole between the center and the corner of backstage (hole no.8 and no.10)

after that take to the front tent the center part of the left side (hole no.12) and you lined up to the hole no.10
do the same way with the right side (line up hole no.6 to the hole no.8)
take the corner part (hole no.11 and no.7) put inside the tent

it will make your tent look like this...as a small rectangle with the size of 180cm x 120cm

pull the center of front stage (hole no.3) and support with bamboo so it will stand free

to make it stronger, add the rope on the top your tent and stick it to the ground

walla......Aditya's tent is ready...
Dad is trying to test if Aditya's tent is really sturdy... ^_^

this is what it looks like in the fire camp
He also bring a plastic picnic mat and pillow so he can sleep like a baby... :)

look at my friend's tent..
what a colorful and creative one

I do LOVE Allah

I found this nice touching poem that reminds me how bad I am as HIS creature.....

courtesy of Google

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Muslim duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Allah to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time

How to eat in Islam

I still remember when my grandma told me not standing when you eat because it is not polite. She also told me not to leave any single rice in my plate because Dewi Sri the Gods of paddy will cry. Kinds of ridiculous reasons that do not make any sense but I believe the reasons behind all of this nonsense is for GOOD.

Eventually when I came on Islamic learning gathering in Syuhada mosque, I get the more acceptable reasons about the procedures of eating according to Islam….

1. Wash your hands before taking your meals. It is keeping with the rules of cleanliness and neatness that your mind should be satisfied about the cleanliness of your hands before starting the meal.

"Cleanliness is half of faith." (Narrated by Muslim)

2. Not excessive in consuming and not wasting it.
Overuse is a culture that Allah does not like. Wasteful acts are strictly prohibited in Islam, even identified as the brother of Satan. We should also eat and drink according to sufficient levels.

“Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil ones and the Evil one is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful.” (Al Isra-The Night Journey : 27)

Limitation was taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasizes the importance of a Muslim to pay attention to those around him; it means we must understand the social realities that exist in our environment, in order to avoid social jealousy.

In another word the Prophet (peace be upon him) threatening to a person who only selfish in the food problem as a non-faction, namely; "Whosoever shall eat your fill while his neighbor moaning hunger, then he is not included my companion".

3. Start by reading ‘basmalah’ – in the name of Allah.
Satan will undoubtedly help to eat with him, and so is lost value of his worship if they do not mention the name of Allah.

From Jabir said; “I've heard the Messenger of Allah SAW said; "If someone entered his house by saying ‘bismillah’ (in the name of God) when in and when to eat, then the devil said to his companion: 'no shelter and no food for you here'. Meanwhile, when the man came without mentioning the name of God, the devil will say; 'you can stay overnight in this house'. Then if you do not mention the name of God when you eat, the devil said: 'You can stay and eat here'. "(Narrated by Muslim).

If you forget to pray at the beginning, then just say as soon as you remember.
Narrated from 'A'ishah, as follows; "If one of you about to eat then just say ‘bismillah’ (in the name of God), but if he forgot in the beginning, then just say ‘bismillahi awwaluhu wa akhiruhu’ (in the name of God from the beginning until the end). (Narrated by Turmidzi)

4. Should not criticize the food. Whatever is served in front of our eyes, the food is the sustenance of God.
Abu Hurairah said; "The Prophet (peace be upon him) never criticizes food forever. If he likes he eats, and if he does not like he’ll abandon it." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

courtesy of Google
5. Using your right hand, not with the left hand. Use three fingers while eating. If required, use four fingers except the little finger. Do not put your fingers in the food up to their roots.

"If one of you eat, then let him eat with his right hand, and if he was drinking, then drink with your right hand. For verily the devil eat with his left hand. "(Narrated by Imam Muslim)

6. Sitting down, and did not stand.
The Prophet has forbidden people to drink while standing.
From hadith, “…that (eating by standing) is more rotten and evil." (Narrated by Ahmad, Muslim and Turmidzi)

7. If a meal together, take the food that close to you and as far as can be reached by hand.
From 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah said; “When I was a child under the care of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), I could stick my hand into the food, the Prophet (pbuh) said; "O kid, say 'Bismillah' (in the name of God) and eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near to you ". (Narrated by Muslim)

In another hadith also says, "Verily, including waste (excessive actions and wrath of Allah) when you eat what you (desire) to eat it." (Narrated by Ibn Majah)

8. Relax, slowly and not in hurry. Do not be greedy so that your mouth looks full of bite and do not blowing on hot or simmering food or drinks that show impatience. The breath that we exhale is polluted and poisonous.

From Ibn Abbas, the Prophet (pbuh) said, "Do not drink in one gulp like a camel drinking, but drink with two or three gulps. Say 'bismillah' (in the name of God) if you drink and 'alhamdulillah’ (thanks God) if you finish drinking." (Narrated by Turmidzi).

courtesy of Google
9. Taking just enough so that it can be consumed out, do not be left one bit, though just a grain of rice stuck to the fingers for example, because it becomes a prohibited form of overuses.

If the morsel drops from your hands pick it up and eat it after cleaning or washing it.

From Jabir said, the Prophet ordered to clean the remaining food on a plate or in finger as he said; "Surely you know not in what part food that contains a blessing." (Narrated by Muslim)

10. Unlawful use of gold and silver utensils.

11. End the meal and drink with the prayer as an expression of gratitude to God for sustenance has been given, so the body becomes healthy, and can perform other religious worship which God has entrusted it.
We read a brief prayer as the Prophet's sayings: "Alhamdulillaahilladzi att'amanaa wasaqaanaa waja'alana minal muslimiin" which means: "Praise be to Allah who has given us eat and drink, and make us as Muslims" (Narrated by Imam Ahmad )

Eating could also be the intention to maintain obedience to Allah, we hope that by eating remain consistent to the righteous. Eating is not only required to meet the biological needs and the needs of the world's pleasure only, but also as a means of worship.

And of course do not forget to eat the food that HALAL and GOOD....
bon apetite..... ^_^
